The #1 Biggest Mistake Buyers Make??  If you make an offer without an Agent, the agent representing the seller
cannot give you any advice.  You are on your own & in today's rapidly changing market, that's not a good thing.
I've helped hundreds of buyers make the move to home ownership and look forward to helping you do the same.

Mortgage Interest Rates Sure to Rise?

According to a recent article on Realtor.com, Fed Reserve Bank of New York President William Dudley said the central bank will soon scale back it's purchase of mortgage-backed securities late next month (March).  This will lead to increased interest rates, but how high they will go is unclear.  The Fed has stated that it will act if rates spike too much.  But read between the lines here, folks.  Rates are on the rise.

$1800 State Tax Credit is over - Federal $8,000/$6,500 applies now.

As Reported here in May 2009, Georgia offered their own version of a tax credit.  The Georgia $1,8000 tax credit expired 11/30/09.  As far as I can tell it was NOT renewed.  But the federal tax credit was.  Check out my FAQ & keep checking back for more updates.

Tax Credit extension is official as of today!

Here's a very simple explanation of the changes made to the tax credit.  Here's another link explaining the altered rules.  Current homeowners can get $6500 but you have to live in your house for 5 of the 8 years prior to the closing date.  There are other rule changes to that the link explains.  Email Info@OffCampusRealty.com with ANY question on the tax credit extension.

Higher Fannie, Fredide, FHA loan limits extended through 2010

Congress acted quickly and passed a Congressional resolution that will extend the higher loan limits put in place in 2009 to go through 2010.  They were set to expire 12/31/09.  This will allow middle & upper income homes to be backed by government loan programs, which are important because lenders are wary of taking on bigger loans without the government's backing in today's shaky mortgage market.

Gov. Perdue signed the Georgia Tax Credit Bill into law May 11, 2009.  It is different from the $8,000 Federal Tax Credit in that there are no income limits and is not limited to first time home buyers.  It can be used IN ADDITION to the Federal Tax Credit.  Click Here to read a FAQ on the State of Georgia tax credit .  We stay on top of the latest real estate news and can represent you in any real estate transaction in the state of Georgia.  Call 877-GO-DAWGS today or email Dave@OffCampusRealty.com now.
